This specific light energy is selectively absorbed by melanin (dark spots) and hemoglobin (redness), safely breaking down these structures without damaging the surrounding tissue. In the days following treatment, fragmented pigment naturally flakes away and vascular lesions are reabsorbed by the body.

Initial onset: Pigmented spots will initially darken within 24–48 hours. A brighter, more even tone begins to emerge within 1–2 weeks as this darkened pigment naturally flakes off.

Peak results: Optimal skin clarity is typically achieved 4 to 6 weeks after your session (vascular lesions may take slightly longer to fully clear).

Duration: Results are highly dependent on sun protection. With proper daily SPF use, results can last for several months to a year. We recommend a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months.

For optimal clearance pigmentation or redness, we recommend a series of 3 Lumecca IPL sessions for the same zone, scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart. A discount will be subtracted from your third session.

It is sufficient to book your first session online; your subsequent appointments will be scheduled on-site in consultation with your practitioner.

What to expect during your visit.

Your practitioner will reconfirm the details below to ensure you feel fully informed and confident before we proceed:

Session length: ~30 minutes

Sensation: A quick, elastic-band-like snapping sensation against the skin, followed by mild warmth. A cooling sapphire tip is applied to the skin during treatment to ensure your comfort and safety.

Downtime: Mild redness and a slight warming sensation (similar to a mild sunburn) usually subside within 48 hours. Over the next 3 to 7 days, pigmented spots will temporarily darken before naturally flaking off.

Follow-up: Please allow 14 days for the initial healing phase and pigment shedding to complete. If you have any questions after this period, simply send a clear photo via WhatsApp or email for our review. We are happy to follow-up.

Preparing for your visit and recovery.

Follow the guidelines below for a smooth recovery and optimal treatment results.

Before your treatment:

Ensure your face is clean and entirely free of makeup upon arrival for your appointment.

Discontinue the use of all retinoids and exfoliants for 48 hours prior to your appointment to prevent skin sensitivity.

After your treatment:

Protect your skin from direct sun exposure for at least 72 hours post-treatment to prevent irritation and hyperpigmentation.

Avoid vigorous exercise and sports for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize bruising, prevent increased swelling, and ensure the product settles correctly.
